Flo Ngala

Florence “Flo” Ngala (b. 1995) is an African-American photographer and photojournalist best known for her street, celebrity and portrait photography. A daughter of West African immigrants, Flo credits life as a first-generation American from Harlem, for kickstarting a culturally inspiring path to photography.

Her work has appeared on front covers of The New York Times, Billboard and ESSENCE Magazine. In 2022, she became the first Black woman invited by Vogue to photograph inside the MET Gala.

Ngala’s career started in 2017 as the personal photographer to rapper Cardi B, who was then up-and-coming. The native New Yorker went on to document what she’s coined “celebrity photojournalism” for the likes of Stacey Abrams, Sarah Jessica Parker, Method Man, Wizkid and more.

In 2023, she made Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list, and recently plans to venture into her first creative agency endeavor: Flo In Focus.
